A. President
- Serve as the chief spokesperson for MISSO.
- Must plan, execute and manage MISSO organizational strategy and membership action in conjunction with the Cabinet, to include administering operational policy measures and defining daily functional procedure.
- Call and preside over all Cabinet and general assembly meetings, to include the preparation of a formal meeting agenda for Cabinet meetings.
- Preside over MISSO events and discussions in a fair and just manner.
- Set a specific Cabinet meeting time every week that will not be changed without at least 24 hour notice.
- Ensure all the vacancies of the Cabinet are filled in an expeditious manner
- Attend and represent MISSO at university meetings when invited.
- Serve as mediator between the Faculty Advisor and MISSO
- Serve as main point of contact and arbitrator for issues and/or disputes regarding active members and Officers of the Cabinet.
- Support individual Officers of the Cabinet with their tasked responsibilities in their absence or incapacity.
- Ensure information is distributed to the Cabinet in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Ensure all organizational operations are conducted and executed with transparency.
- Ensure Officers of the Cabinet remain accountable and stay on task, taking appropriate action to address problems caused by actions/inaction of Officer(s),
- Responsible for ensuring any proposal, blurb or informational news content produced by this office with the intent such content is to be posted on the MISSO website, is to be delivered to the Technology Officer a minimum of 2 days prior to the desired publishing date, otherwise this office must self publish using the website admin link.
- Responsible for ensuring any proposal, blurb or informational news content produced by this office with the intent such content is to be posted in the MISSO Newsletter, or distributed on the listserv, is to be delivered to the Marketing Officer a minimum of 2 days prior to the desired publishing date, otherwise such additions must be made during the stated Sunday-Monday review period.
- Reserve rooms for the organization’s meetings.
B. Vice-President
- Fulfill all Presidential duties as defined in Article IV: Section 3: A in the absence or incapacity of the President.
- Shall work with the President to plan and pursue the strategic goals of the organization.
- Make weekly checks of organizational apparatuses to ensure currency of material posted, addressing tampering, theft, and vandalism as appropriate.
- Responsible for receiving and distributing member resumes, including the preparation and subsequent distribution of the MISSO Resume CD to employers at weekly presentations and the Bauer Career Fair.
- Ensure each copy of the MISSO Resume CD includes a copy of our faculty advisor’s business card (Dr. Parks) before distribution.
- Shall meet with Bauer advisors to acquire the number of students in each major and deliver to the Cabinet a report of the percent of MIS majors and minors in MISSO.
- Provide resume, career guidance, and general assistance to members seeking such help.
- Responsible for ensuring any proposal, blurb or informational news content produced by this office with the intent such content is to be posted on the MISSO website, is to be delivered to the Technology Officer a minimum of two days prior to the desired publishing date, otherwise this office must self-publish using the website administration link subject to approval by President
- Responsible for ensuring any proposal, blurb or informational news content produced by this office with the intent such content is to be posted in the MISSO Newsletter, or distributed on the listserv, is to be delivered to the Marketing Officer a minimum of two days prior to the desired publishing date, otherwise such additions must be made during the stated Sunday-Monday review period subject to approval by President.
- Must print, post and distribute all physical media and informational documentation relating to MISSO organizational events and operations in a timely fashion, to include Rush Week, fundraising, and Bauer Career Fair events.
C. VP of Finance
- Serve as the chief financial administrator for MISSO.
- Must keep accurate and up to date records regarding the financial state of the organization, to include all monetary inflows and outflows related to operational and functional transactions.
- Must analyze existing organizational financials at the start of each semester and then develop and track a semester budget plan, which is subject to President and Vice President approval. Modifications allowable only by approval of President.
- Maintain accurate membership, financial, and attendance records for the organization, utilizing MISSO’s intranet site and MISSO’s customer relationship management software (© Sven Goedicke).
- Be prepared to present an official financial report, membership report, and attendance report at each Cabinet meeting, to include providing these reports within 48 hours notice upon a reasonable request by President or Vice President.
- Responsible for the collection and distribution of all MISSO funds, including membership dues and other associated fees.
- Provide reimbursement(s) to membership for expense(s) directly attributable to MISSO organizational function and/or operations within one week of receiving of satisfactory documentation, providing receipt(s) in kind to properly account for said remittance.
- Administer and oversee all fundraising done by MISSO in conjunction with the Fundraising Officer, to include coordinating the custody and reporting of any acquired funds to ensure proper accounting.
- Initiate discussions as necessary with the Operations Officer to align cash flows with organizational operations requirements, including planning and funding of all MISSO membership offerings.
- Fulfill all Presidential duties as defined in Article IV: Section 3: A in the absence or incapacity of both the President and Vice President.
- Ensure that taxes are filed accordingly once MISSO becomes a full Non – Profit.
E. Administrative Vice President
- Serve as chief advisor to the President.
- Plan and execute tasks assigned by the President.
- Facilitate communication between the cabinet and the President.
- Verify all published content for accuracy.
- Keep President up to date on all recent events regarding the organization.
- Update the MISSO Bauer bulletin board with informational fliers and the current week’s Employer presenter.
- Serve as chief advisor for MISSO on all questions of constitutional procedure.
- Have functional knowledge of policies and procedures of this college, especially those policies which pertain to students and the Constitution.
- Shall have the official Constitution at all times during meetings.
- Create a calendar document for the President with the other major Bauer Orgs events on it to ensure MISSO is not overlapping. (BAP, APICS, ABSA, HBSA, FA, AS).
- Create and/or update Excel document with Bauer staff’s contact information name, email, phone, position, and responsibility. The purpose of this document is to help new officers.
- Must gather a task force to aid with the research and handling of the end of semester banquet.
D. Corporate Officer
- Serve as the chief corporate Relations liaison for MISSO
- Must actively engage corporate partners, potential partners and any other outside organization contacting or seeking audience with MISSO membership.
- Responsible for overseeing the scheduling and coordination of all weekly employer presentations.
- Responsible for contacting and communicating professionally with existing and new corporate partners, to include crafting exceptionally written correspondence, fully explaining MISSO’s presentation and sponsorship options, offering available dates and times as appropriate, maintaining an open, sincere, timely and continuous dialog, confirming all commitments and following through.
- Ensure that all outgoing e-mail correspondence is courtesy copied to President, to include double checks for grammatical and factual accuracy, as well as professionalism in tone and content.
- Responsible for creating, updating, and distributing a master employer presentation schedule in coordination with Marketing Officer
- Shall coordinate with the Operations Officer to ensure timely arrangements have been made for food, refreshments, and condiments at all organizational meetings and presentations, to include ensuring such arrangements fall within a reasonable cost.
- Must coordinate directly with the VP of Finance and/or Operations Officer for approval of all transactions conducted in the course of corporate relations administration
- Must contact corporate partners and reconfirm their attendance two weeks before the scheduled presentation date, to include discussing final food arrangements, their presentation requirements offering rescheduling options as needed.
- Contact corporate partners again to reconfirm their attendance one week before the scheduled presentation date, to include requesting the names and titles of the individuals scheduled to attend, reconfirming final food arrangements, reconfirming their presentation requirements, offering rescheduling options as needed.
- Be prepared to present at each Cabinet meeting the master presentation schedule and complete details of the current week’s corporate presentation, to include date and time, refreshment arrangements, total cost, number of presenters and names and titles of the individual presenter(s)
- Send out “thank you” correspondence to employer presenters within one week after the presentation date, ensuring the letter is courtesy copied to all individual employer representatives who attended.
- Actively promote MISSO at the Bauer Career Fair by fostering new corporate relationships, greeting existing partners and generally seeking further opportunities for sponsorship, to include retrieving business cards and securing contact information where possible.
- Contact all corporate leads from the Bauer Career Fair for which contact information was received within one week of the event, to include offering specific suggestions on how they might become involved in MISSO and providing any information they might require from which to base such a decision.
- Responsible for ensuring any proposal, blurb or informational news content produced by this office with the intent such content is to be posted on the MISSO website, is to be delivered to President within 3 days prior to the desired publishing date
F. Operations Officer
- Make timely set up and arrangements for food, refreshments, and condiments at all organizational meetings, workshops and presentations, to include ensuring such arrangements fall within the budget set forth by the Vice President of Finance.
- Initiate discussions as necessary with the Finance Officer to align cash flows with organizational operation requirements, including planning and funding of all MISSO membership offerings.
- Weekly meetings with the VP of Finance to give receipts and discuss the next week’s budget for food/items needed for professional meetings and workshops.
- Efficiently manage operations committee and assign tasks as necessary
G. Education Officer
- The Education Officer responsibilities will be done by two Officers.
- Serve as the chief scholars for MISSO.
- Must plan, schedule and execute workshops for MISSO membership based on coursework relevant to the Management Information Systems curriculum.
- Must have completed the following courses or the present equivalent with at least a 3.5 GPA: MIS 3380, MIS 3370, MIS 3371, and MIS 3376. An exception can be made by the President.
- Responsible for organizing and presiding over an Education Committee at the semester outset, subject to approval by the President.
- Responsible for coordinating with Operations Officer in creating and maintaining workshop schedule, planning workshop events in consideration of posted course exams and quizzes whenever possible.
- Be prepared to present at each Cabinet meeting the master workshop schedule and complete details of the next workshop, to include date and time, location, refreshment arrangements and total cost.
H. Sponsorship Officer
- Serve as chief sponsorship administrator for MISSO.
- Must coordinate with the VP of Finance to achieve a goal amount for the semester.
- Must actively engage corporate partners, potential partners and any other outside organization seeking MISSO sponsorship, and give the president weekly updates on who he/she has contacted and status.
- Must coordinate with Corporate Relations Officer to maintain a good standing relationship with corporate partners, potential partners and any other outside organization.
- Send out preapproved thank you letters to all newly acquired sponsors.
I. Member Relations Officer
- Serve as the ambassador to the members of MISSO.
- Responsible for creating surveys to acquire member feedback.
- Maintain and update the reward system.
- Maintain and grow the mentorship program by creating forms, organizing events, and ensuring that quality assistance is given to all those members involved.
- Work with the Technology Officer to create web forms for the mentorship program.
- Communicate with the Marketing Officer for all informational media that is sent out to the mentorship program members. All media must be approved by the President and Vice-President.
- Provide weekly updates about the status of the mentorship program to the cabinet.
J. Alumni Relations Officer
- Serve as chief liaison between MISSO alumni and active members.
- Responsible for generation and maintenance of alumni contact list.
- Must organize, plan, and execute all alumni events for MISSO, to include scheduling and resource coordination with Operations Officer.
- Be prepared to present at each Cabinet meeting all alumni event details to include date and time, location, refreshment arrangements, and total cost.
- Pursue sponsorship and fundraising opportunities via alumni channels.
- Must coordinate directly with the VP of Finance for approval of all transactions conducted in the course of alumni relations.
- Responsible for ensuring any proposal, blurb, or informational news content produced by this office with the intent such content is to be posted on the MISSO website, is to be delivered to the Vice President a minimum of three days prior to the desired publishing date.
- Responsible for ensuring any, any proposal, blurb or informational news content produced by this office with the intent such content is to be posted in the MISSO Newsletter, or distributed on the listserv, is to be delivered to the Vice President a minimum of three days prior to the desired publishing date.
L. Public Relations Officer
- Serve as the chief community outreach administrator for MISSO
- Must organize, plan and execute at least one organizational social related activity per month, the socials after the professional meetings and tailgates for MISSO, to include scheduling and resource coordination with VP of Operations.
- Must organize, plan, and execute a social event following each professional meeting
- Must assist Member Relations and/or Alumni Relations Officer(s) in organizing, planning, and executing one organizational social related activity per month.
- iii. Be prepared to present at each Cabinet meeting all social event details to include date and time, location, refreshment arrangements and total cost.
- Must coordinate directly with the VP of Finance for approval of all transactions conducted in the course of social event administration.
- Must seek to establish and maintain relationships between MISSO and other on campus student organizations.
- Appoint Intramural activities manager subject to approval from President. .
- Must organize, plan and execute three organizational community service events for MISSO, Community service events should be in conjunction with one of MISSO’s corporate partners.
- Be prepared to present at each Cabinet meeting community service event details, to include date and time, location, refreshment arrangements and total cost.
- Must coordinate directly with the VP of Finance and/or Operations Officer for approval of all transactions conducted in the course of community service event administration.
- Continually reach out to other major student organizations so that MISSO can maintain partnerships with the other groups.
- Ensure that the information that Bauer has on record about MISSO is up to date and representing our organization in the best possible light (Bauer organizations website information, PowerPoint on the Monitors under the AIM ticker, Any information to the public and alumni’s sent from Bauer.)
- Document community services booked, including contact information, member turnout, and feedback.
N. Technology Officer
- Serve as the chief technology administrator for MISSO.
- Must maintain all content on the MISSO website, to include all coding and applications, client-side and server-side scripting, links, widgets, gadgets, graphics, text and any other content required for MISSO organizational operations and required by the Cabinet.
- Must develop and publish valid content proposals as directed by the Vice President or the President within three days of receipt.
- Continually ensure that the Sponsor page on the website is up to date.
- Responsible for updating weekly front page news blurbs by Saturday of each week, based on information contained in the master events schedule.
- Ensure the MISSO website is in accordance with current technology standards and develop plans for updates when needed.
M. Marketing Officer
- Serve as the chief information liaison for MISSO
- Must administer information flows between the MISSO Cabinet, membership, and any other outside organization as required by the Cabinet.
- Plan, craft, and transmit all listserv email distributions to MISSO membership in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for designing and preparing the weekly MISSO Newsletter
- Must prepare a draft Newsletter and deliver it to the Vice President via email by Sunday evening for review, and then distribute it via listserv to general membership no later than the following Monday evening.
- Assist the President with Prezi presentation for weekly MISSO meeting, ensuring all pertinent agenda items receive coverage.
- Assist the Vice President with MISSO public relations during Rush, fundraising and Career Fair events, including ensuring all physical informational media and documentation needed are up to date and of sufficient quantity and quality.
- Responsible for ensuring any proposal, blurb or informational news content produced by this office with the intent such content is to be posted on the MISSO website, is to be delivered to the Vice President a minimum of three days prior to the desired publishing date, otherwise this office must self-publish using the website admin link.
- Responsible for creating, updating, and distributing a master events schedule in coordination with all Cabinet members, planning all events in consideration of posted course exams and quizzes whenever possible.
- Serve as Administrator for MISSO Facebook page.
- Update all social media with new content to ensure that members are aware about all MISSO events.
O. Fundraising Officer
- Serve as the chief fundraising administrator for MISSO.
- Must organize, plan, and execute all organizational fundraising events for MISSO, to include scheduling and resource coordination with VP of Finance.
- Be prepared to present at each Cabinet meeting fundraising event details, to include date and time, location, refreshment arrangements and total cost.
- Must coordinate directly with the VP of Finance and/or Operations Officer for approval of all transactions conducted in the course of fundraising event administration.
- File and maintain current food permit
P. Historian
- Serve as chief historian for MISSO
- Record minutes from all official MISSO meetings and prepare a summary to distribute to the Cabinet and membership as necessary.
- Maintain online photo gallery, to include photo coverage of all MISSO events.
- Must prepare an end of semester video/end of semester scrapbook to be presented at the banquet…This can be decided by the current historian and president.
