Point System

the Point System

View your Points Here

Why?

The Point System is used to promote active participation and involvement of MISSO members that will contribute most to their overall development as professionals, students, and leaders.

MISSO vows to only use points for rewards and not penalties – a student is not required to receive any points to be considered a member. The top member will be recognized on our website and rewarded at the semi-annual banquet with possible scholarships, gifts, and awards.

Please note that there is a minimum requirement to run for an Officer Position depending on your credit hours for the current semester. The segregation of classification is due to the awareness that some applicants’ situations may differ from others depending on the receival of a full-time offer, co-op internships, etc.

We have also implemented a minimum points requirement to vote in Officer Elections. This is to ensure that members voting in the elections have had some type of involvement in the organization, and are aware of the candidates and of how we operate.

How?

At each event, MISSO will be able to record your attendance when you ‘swipe in’ with our Cougar Card Reader or sign-in with your PeopleSoft number. Our database will automatically calculate your overall points and display it on our ‘Master Points’ Sheet. Please note that points given from Socials and Committees will be updated every Sunday at 11:59 PM.

As for points at socials and volunteer events the Public Relations Officer will have a sign-in sheet at the event. You MUST sign in to receive points. In order to receive points for committee involvement, bake sales, and bake parties, be sure to check in with the officer responsible for that event.
